Last May 4,2008 Southwestern University had its 62nd Foundation Day. SWU Foundation Day is usually held in October and this is the first time (I guess) they held it in summer. Basing from my reliable source (naks) , the president wants to held the foundation day exactly when the school first opened. Apparently the school opened during summer so starting from now it will be expected that the foundation day will be held in summer if and only if the president will not change it again. lolz The theme for this event is Fiesta Mode so banderitas are all over the place. Sagala or parade of beauties was the highlight of the event. The pic above are the candidates having their production number. They are representing their respective departments/colleges.
The things hanging there are called banderitas which I was talking about. This was during the parade of the candidates. The audience were cheering for their representative and as always giving destructive and offensive (lolz) side comments about the gowns of the ladies and their escorts.
These are some of the candidates. Look at their escorts or the one holding their individual floral arch, I think escorts is not the right term for that. duh! The 2 escorts in the left side dressed in a National Dress (of men) of the Philippines - Barong were not filipinos but they are muslims/ Iran, Im not really sure about their nationality all I know is they were foreigners. It is indeed weird and for me, unusual for a sagala.
Our representative , School of Business, she's beautiful, right? The two escorts holding the floral arch are my classmates. lolz. They look respectable (for the first time. lol) on their dress. Harhar. By the way, as you noticed they are being filmed or taken some shots (My film terminology sucks!). They said, the event will be featured in a local show here in our place, cool right?
